Ingredients

    500 grams dried chickpeas soaked overnight
    1 leek
    1 large carrot
    2 large stalks celery
    aprox 4 cups home made chicken or vegetable stock
    1 tspn turmeric
    .5 tspn salk
    .5 tspn ground black pepper
    .5 tspn ground chilli peppers

Directions

place all ingredients into a slow cooker. ensure that stock level covers the peas + quarter inch. Cook on high for 2 hours and then on low for up to 5 hours or until the peas are tender.

Serving Size: serves six as lunch or starter
