Introduction

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    -1 can black beans
    -1 can kidney beans
    -2 cans chicken stock or broth (note: Progresso broth uses Green Peppers)
    -2 tbsp canola oil
    -1 small onion, chopped
    -6 cloves of garlic, diced
    -2 large carrots, chopped
    -1 celery stalk, chopped
    -1 tbsp turmeric
    -1 tbsp cumin
    -1/2 tsp ground clove
    -1/2 tsp coriander
    -salt & pepper to taste
    -1 lb meat (I use grass fed ground beef)

Directions

Brown your beef in the vegetable oil, then add the veggies and sautee until onions are translucent. Add the remaining ingredients into a crock pot or dutch oven and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.

  • I'm totally in love with this chili! I was wondering how I was going to make it through the long winter without it. Not quite the same without tomatoes and peppers but that's the point. Wonderful touch with the ground clove. - 9/20/12
