Ingredients

2 c. dried corkscrew pasta (6 oz.) dry
    1 beaten egg
    1/4 c. skim milk
    2 Tbs. grated parmesan cheese
8 oz. 93% lean ground beef
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium green or yellow bell pepper cut into 2 inch long strips (1 c.)
    2 c. spaghetti sauce ( I use Classico Tomato & Basil)
1/2 tsp. crushed pizza or itialian seasoning, crushed (or to taste)
    1 c. fresh sliced mushrooms
1/8 to 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 c. shredded part skim mozzarella cheese ( 4 oz.)

Directions

Cook rotini for 8 to 10 minutes or till still firm, drain, rinse with cold water and drain again well.
For pasta crust, in a large mixing bowl, combine egg, milk, and parmesan cheese. Stir in cooked rotini. Spread mixture evenly in a greased 12 inch pizza pan. Bake in a 350* oven 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet cook ground beef, onion, garlic, and mushrooms till meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. Add pepper strips, sauce, and pizza seasoning to meat mixture. Bring to boiling, then reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 to 12 minutes or till peppers are crisp tender and most of the liquid is evaporated, stirring once or twice. Stir in crushed red pepper.
Spoon meat mixture over baked crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350* 10 to 12 minutes or till heated through and cheese melts. To serve, cut into wedges.
