Introduction

A healthier, yummier version of Hamburger Helper. Not the most sophisticated meal but it's a hit with the kids in the the family. A healthier, yummier version of Hamburger Helper. Not the most sophisticated meal but it's a hit with the kids in the the family.

Ingredients

6 oz Barilla Plus Rotini, uncooked
6 oz Ground beef, extra lean
98 % Fat Free Cream of Chicken Soup, 10.75 oz
Campbells Cheddar Cheese Soup, 10.75 oz
    2 oz plain greek yogurt
    1 cup broccoli, chopped
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Steak seasoning (we use McCormick's) about 1/2 tsp or to taste.

Directions

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add penne, and cook until tender. Drain. I usually steam the broccoli over the pasta water or you can steam it separately.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef-cook, stirring to crumble the beef, until evenly browned. Drain off excess grease, and mix in the cream of chicken soup, and Cheddar cheese soup, along with the water and yogurt. Add seasoning. Simmer over medium heat for a few minutes. Stir in the cooked pasta, and serve immediately.

We like to sprinkle ours with a little cheddar cheese before eating.

This is good with mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, green beans, just about any veggie you want to throw in. I keep mine pretty bare because the more stuff I throw in the less pleased my daughter is but this can be dressed up and healthified even more.
