Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 pkg. 16 bean soup mix (dry)
    Approx. 1 cup diced ham
    1-2 cups chicken broth
    5-6 cups water
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 TBS. basil
    1 TBS. oregano
    1 TBS. sage
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 whole bay leaf
    2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce


Directions

Take the package of beans and rinse them under warm water. Put them into a large pot. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Boil for 2-5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let stand covered for one hour. Then place all the other ingredients in a slow cooker turned on high. Add the beans and stir to mix. Let slow cooker cook on high for first hour or two, then turn down to low until ready to eat. Can be served with some shredded cheddar not reflected in nutritional information). Serves approx. 6 (2 cup servings)

    This was pretty good...a little too much spice for us. I would make it again but adjust the amount & types of spices I use. Very filling though! - 3/8/12
