Ingredients

1# ground beef
24 oz. tomato sauce
1 can green beans
1 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. basil
3 cups long grain, white rice
1/4 c oil
Directions
Put rice in bowl. Wash the rice with warm water and drain. Cover again with warm water and let set for 30 min.
In a skillet, brown ground beef. Add tomato sauce, green beans, and spices - except for the turmeric.
Fill 2/3 of a dutch oven with water. Bring to a boil. Add the rice, salt and turmeric. Parboil the rice. Drain in a colander.
Mix rice gently with sauce.
In the bottom of the dutch oven, add the oil. Then gently place the mixed rice in the pot. Add a cup of water. Take 2 paper towels and place under the lid of the pot. Cover (Make sure the towels do not get near the flame). Keep at medium high heat until it begins to steam. Then reduce the heat to low and cook for at least 45 minutes. to an hour.
