Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:
1 c All Purpose Flour
1/4 c Whole Wheat Flour
1/8 c Wheat Bran
1/8 c Milled Flax Seed
1/4 c Cocoa Powder, Special Dark or regular
1/2 c Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend (dry/powdered)
1/2 c Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Chips or semi-sweet chips
1/2 c Sliced Almonds
1/4 t nutmeg
1/4 t cinnamon, vietnamese
1/2 c Splenda Granulated
Wet Ingredients:
3/4 c egg beaters
1/2 c unsweetened applesauce
1 t vanilla extract
1 t almond flavoring
1 t coffee flavoring (optional)
1 3/4 - 2 c water
2 t lemon juice
Directions
Pre-heat Belgium Waffle Maker flip style, 4-5 setting
In large bowl, whisk all dry ingredients except chips and nuts to remove lumps. If baking powder is clumping, sift to remove lumps before adding to flour mixture. Add chips and nuts.
In another bowl, mix eggbeaters with applesauce and flavorings. Add 1 c of water, blend. Add lemon juice and blend.
Add wet ingredients to dry ones and mix, adding water until batter is thin cake mix consistency.
Spray waffle maker with butter flavored spray and add 1/4-1/3 c of batter, smooth to edges. Close lid and flip. Use automatic settings or cook 3-5 minutes until crispy.
Be careful not to over load waffle maker or batter will leak out--messy.
Serving Size: Makes 5-6 6 inch waffles.
