Introduction

Delicious veggie side dish! Delicious veggie side dish!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1.5 pounds fresh broccoli florets
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 T. molasses
    3 packets splenda
    2 T. soy sauce
2 t. minced garlic (I use the refridgerated kind in the jar.)
2 t. white (or rice) vinegar
    1/4 t. ginger
    pinch black pepper

Directions

1. Blanch broccoli. (If you are not familiar with this technique, you boil a large pot of water. Then add broccoli & boil for 2 minutes only. Drain (or remove with slotted spoon) and plunge the broccoli into ice water. Let cool. Then drain. The result is bright green, tender-crisp broccoli. Perfect for any recipe.)
2. Make sauce by melting butter in large pan. Add everything else & stir.
3. Add drained broccoli to pan containing sauce. Heat briefly, stirring to coat with sauce.

You could turn into a complete meal with the addition of chopped cooked chicken, peanuts & brown rice.

Serving Size: 6 servings 1/4 pound of broccoli plus sauce
