Introduction

Ingredients

    1 cup onion, diced
    2 tsp. garlic, or to taste
    2 bay leaves
    1Tbsp fresh thyme sprigs
    1 tsp pepper
    1 tsp salt
    1 lb. blade steak [American chuck], cubed
    1/4 cup flour
    3 cups potato, cubed
    1 cup turnips, cubed
    2 cups carrots, cubed
    1.5 cups celery cubed
    3 cups water

Directions

Place the onions, garlic and spices in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Coat the beef in the flour [Easily done if you place the flour in a bag, add the beef then shake]

Place approximately half the vegetables in the slow cooker.

Add the beef and flour then add remaining vegatables.

Add water.

Cook on high for approximately 6 hours, or until the gravy is thickened and the vegetables are tender.

Serving Size: Makes 12-2 cup servings
