Introduction
I'm not kidding when I say this literally tastes like a Fruity Pebbles cereal in a glass, but with all the natural fruit and green powder goodness! I'm not kidding when I say this literally tastes like a Fruity Pebbles cereal in a glass, but with all the natural fruit and green powder goodness!Ingredients
-
(The majority of these items, except the green powder, is bought at Trader Joe's. They don't necessarily need to be from Trader Joe's to enjoy! The green powder can be bought at any Whole Foods store!)
~ 2/3 cup frozen strawberries
~ One (1) small banana, sliced
~ One (1) cup "Silk Pure Almond" almond milk
~ One (1) scoop Amazing Grass GREENSuperFood Lemon/Lime energy drink powder
Tips
- The natural content of sugar in this is relatively high. You are free to alter the recipe by adding a vegetable (such as spinach, kale, or anything leafy or green) to reduce the sugar amount if its too high for you. I found spinach can be a great alternative in place of a fruit (believe me, you can barely taste it!) or even kale if you want a tiny kick in flavor!
- You can mix it up by adding different fruit (it doesn't necessarily have to be strawberries and bananas!) The green powder's lemon and lime flavor brings a great kick and it can really blend with just about anything, so see what other options you can do!
- This smoothie is ideal in the mornings for breakfast to give you that energy boost for the day, or just before a workout to get pumped up!
Directions
Put the strawberries and bananas first so they can blend well at the bottom of the blender, following with the cup of almond milk and a scoop of the green powder. Blend until smooth.
Depending how smooth you want it to be, it should only take about 5 minutes to successfully blend everything.
