Tips
PERFECT side dish to a cook-out or BBQ!!
Directions
Set Oven to Pre-Heat at 375 degrees.
1.Spray the bottom of a large Oven-Safe Casserole Dish, then add to dish: Van Camp's, Onions, Mustard, Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Brown Sugar, and Granulated Sugar.
2. Mix slow and thoroughly, combing all the ingredients.
3. Mix for about 5 minutes, getting all the edges and bottom mixed together.
4. Spread top evenly with spoon.
5. Now, on top of the bean mixture, layer your strips of bacon 1 at a time, 1 inch apart from another.
6. Layer vertically, horizontally, then make a cross, and finally both ways diagonally.
**When I do it in this way, it makes the top of the beans look like the British flag. Odd, yet ironic.
7. Carefully place in the pre-heated oven for about 35 minutes, with no lid/covering.
8. After 45 minutes, the bacon should be fully cooked and crisp looking on top, the beans bubbly and HOT.
9. Be careful, and take the beans out of the oven.
10. With a pair of scissors, cut/chop the bacon into little pieces.
11. Mix the beans and bacon together, so that bacon is floating all throughout the beans.
12. Place back in the oven, uncovered, for 35 minutes.
13. After 30-35 minutes; take baked beans out of the oven, and allow beans to cool for about 15 minutes to set.
