Ingredients

    1 Stick of Unsalted Butter
1/2 Cup Sugar (I haven't tried this recipe with substitutes)
    3 Lg. Eggs
    2 - 3 tsp. Anise
    4 tsp Baking Powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
3 Cups sifted flour (I haven't tried using flours other than white)

Tips

Glaze: 1 Cup confectioners sugar
4-5 tsp milk
1 tsp Anise
Whisk until smooth. Dip the tops of the cookies into glaze then sprinkle with jimmies. We add food coloring to the glaze for different colored cookies.

Directions

Bake at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet
Cream: margarine and sugar
Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Then add Anise, Baking Powder, salt, and flour. Mix well. Dough should be soft as pie crust. Form dough in small balls about the size of walnuts. (These can be formed into shapes as well, candy canes, trees, bells, etc.). Cool and glaze.

Serving Size: 3 cookies
