Ingredients

    1 large onion, sliced thin
    1 tablespoon minced garlic
    2 pounds ground beef
    1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
    1 1/4 teaspoons dried oregano
    1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
    6 whole tomatoes, diced
    2 tablespoons tomato paste
    2 medium zucchini, finely diced
    Salt & Pepper to taste
    1/2 head cauliflower
1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas (from dried)
    1/2 cup crumbled feta

Directions

In a cast iron skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil over moderate heat and in it cook the onion, stirring, until it is softened. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the beef and cook, stirring and breaking up any lumps, until no longer pink. Drain excess fat from the skillet, then add the cinnamon, oregano, and allspice, and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, zucchini, and salt and pepper to taste and cook, stirring, for 15 minutes, or until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

Wash, cut, and boil cauliflower until tender. Add chickpeas and salt and pepper to taste. Mash with immersion blender or in batches in a regular blender until it reaches the consistency of mashed potatoes.

Spread cauliflower mixture over beef mixture in cast iron pan and sprinkle with feta

Bake in 350 degree F oven for 20-25 minutes or until topping is slightly browned.
