Ingredients

Apples, fresh, 5 medium - peeled, cored and diced.
    Milk, 1%, 3 cup
    Water, 3 cup
Steel Cut Oats, dry, 2 cup
    Brown Sugar, .25 cup, packed
Margarine, 3 tbsp - cut into pieces
    Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp
    Salt, .5 tsp

Directions

Coat inside of 5-6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray or use a crockpot liner (prefered, it's sticky stuff). Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Stir, cover, and cook on low for 7 hours. Spoon oatmeal into bowls; add optional toppings, if desired. Store leftovers in refrigerator. Freezes well.

To reheat single servings: Put 1-cup cooked oatmeal in microwave proof bowl. Add 1/3 cup fat-free milk. Microwave on high for 1 minute; stir. Continue cooking for another minute, or until hot.
