Ingredients

    1 pound ground meat
    1 egg
    1 cup bread crumbs
    1/2 cup onion or shallots
    spices: salt, pepper, parsley, garlic, to taste
    2 tablespoons canola oil or similar
    2c mushrooms, sliced
    2 cans beef broth
    2 tablespoons cornstarch -- adjust to get the gravy to the thickness that you like
    3 tablespoons sour cream
    8 cups egg noodles

Directions

Cook noodles. Strain and set aside,

Heat oil in frying pan.

While noodles are cooking, mix ground meat, bread crumbs, egg, onions and spices. Shape into 1 inch balls. Drop into hot oil and brown on all sides. Add broth and mushrooms. Cover and cook until meatballs are well done and mushrooms are soft. Remove about 1/2 cup of broth and stir in the cornstarch. Retun to pan with constant stirring to avoid lumps. Add sour cream.

Pour over noodles and serve.

Makes about 10 servings.
