Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 lb lean ground beef
    30 oz of canned beans (1 can of northern, 1 can mixed), drained and rinsed
    1 cup salsa
    1 jar tomato and basil Heart Healthy Ragu (or low sodium/low sugar pasta sauce of choice)
    1 tbsp chili powder
    1/2 tbsp cumin, ground
    1 small yellow onion, chopped
    1 small red onion, chopped
    1/2 cup sweet corn, frozen

Tips

You can stir a little bit towards the middle of the cook time but it's best just to let it sit and do its thing. Optionally, when serving, add low fat sour cream and shredded cheese.


Directions

1. Brown meat in a skillet. Drain. Add to slow cooker with all ingredients.
2. Cook on Low setting for 5 to 6 hours. You can speed it along by putting it up to High and cooking for about 3 or more hours). Serve warm.
