Introduction

Instead of spaghetti sauce use pizza sauce. Instead of spaghetti sauce use pizza sauce.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    Italian Bread, sliced thin into 24 slice
    .5 C Red sweet peppers, chopped
    .5 C green peppers, chopped
    8 oz pizza sauce
    2-3 Tbsp olive oil
    dash black pepper
    1 tsp oregano
    1 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 C grated parmesan cheese
    1 C shredded Monterey cheese or Mozzarella
    Cheese
    8 oz cream cheese, softened

Directions

Preheat oven to 400. Brush olive oil ontop of bread lightly. Align onto cookie sheets. Set aside.

In a small bowl combine softened cream cheese and all spices. Spread evenly onto bottom of a casserole dish. Pour sauce evenly on top of cheese mixture. Combine monterey and parmesan and sprinkle on top of sauce. Bake casserole for 15-20 minutes until hot throughout and cheese is melted. Bake bread until crisp. Sprinkle chopped peppers ontop of dip.
Serve hot ontop of bread.

Makes 12 servings of 2 slices each.

    Very Good
    This was a really great recipe! I made it last night. I thought it would be a fun/diff. dinner to try. It really should only be made for an app., as I can see now that after 2 of these, it is just so rich, you can't bare anymore. HOWEVER, it was VERY good!!! Would make a great appy for a party!! - 4/8/08
