Introduction
Chili is always a great and HEALTHY comfort food/easy weeknight dinner, just stick it in a crockpot and go. This is a chili I threw together with items we always have on hand. You can alter the recipe based on what you have, but this was last night's chili. I never make the same chili twice :) Chili is always a great and HEALTHY comfort food/easy weeknight dinner, just stick it in a crockpot and go. Ingredients
-
1 lb Jennie-O Ground Turkey
2 cans of black beans
1 can of Fire Roasted Tomatoes
1/2 bag of veggies (any kind you have. I used a pepper, onion, parsley mix)
2 cloves of garlic
a packet of Badia Sazon Tropical (no MSG!)
*Any condiments you'd like
(cheese, sour cream, onions, cilantro, etc)
*not calculated in calories
Tips
The good thing about Chili is that the longer it cooks the better it tastes. You really cant go wrong with cooking times. I cooked it for 3 hours on high last night and it was perfect.
This will also be a simple one pot meal. Just simmer the chili it is heated through and you are ready to eat.
We eat over a bed of rice and add some cheese on top (not calculated for the calorie count)
