    1/2 cup of butter or margarine, softened
    3/4 cup of brown sugar
    1 cup nonfat milk
    2 eggs
    1 tsp almond extract
    2 cups of flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 small jar of maraschino cherries, drained and halved
    1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350

Combine softened butter and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Stir in milks, eggs, almond extract. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to milk mixture and stir until all ingredients are moistened.

Stir in cherries and chocolate chips.

Add batter to a greased loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes.

Let cool before removing from pan. Serve warm, cold or re-heated. Store in refrigerator.
