Introduction

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb of lean ground beef (90/10)
    1 small chopped onion
    1 cup of picante sauce
    1 can (4oz) Diced green chiles
    12 yellow taco shells (break the shells into small pieces)
    1 package of taco seasoning
    3/4 cup of water
    2 cups of 2% shredded cheddar (use 2 one cup servings)

Tips

You can also top with light sour cream, jalapenos, tomatoes and green onions.


Directions

cook ground beef bell peppers, and onions and drain fat if any. Stir in taco sauce, water, chiles, and taco seasoning. Cook covered on low heat for about 4 minutes.
Layer 1/2 of the broken shells on the bottom of your dish. Then 1/2 your meat mixture and 1 cup of cheese. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Serving Size: Divide casserole into 8 equal pieces
