Introduction

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1c Steel cut oats
    3 1/2c water
    Pinch of salt
    1/2c skim milk
    1tsp Vanilla Extract
    Walnuts, dates, brown sugar or any other toppings.

Tips

I usually serve different topping variations to this. One week will be walnuts with brown sugar, another time it will be blueberries or bananas.


Directions

Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add the steel cut oats and salt, stir. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for 30 minutes. Make sure you stir the oats occasionally in order to keep from sticking. When the oats start to thicken, at about 30 minutes, add in the milk and vanilla. Cook for 10 more minutes.

Serve hot with toppings.
