Ingredients

    2 c. thinly sliced onions
    2 T. sherry
    4 c. beef broth
    1 t. Worcestershire sauce
    Sliced French bread
    Swiss cheese


Tips

The lower the heat when saute the onions the better it will taste. I usually whip this up and let it simmer all afternoon but the broth does get quite concentrated.


Directions

In large saucepan, sauté onions in sherry. Cook until tender. Add broth and worcestershire sauce. Simmer until flavors come together. Put in oven proof bowls add sliced bread and top with cheese. Broil until cheese melts.
