Introduction
From CrockPot recipe book From CrockPot recipe bookNumber of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
4 to 4 1/2 pounds beef short ribs
1/4 cup chopped green onions with tops
1/4 Tamari or soy sauce (I used lite)
1/4 beef broth or water (I used water to decrease sodium as well)
1 TBS brown sugar
2 Tsps minced fresh ginger or 1 tsp ground
2 Tsps minced garlic
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsps dark sesame oil
2 tsps sesame seeds, toasted
Hot cooked rice or linguini pasta (Not included in nutritional info)
Directions
1. Place ribs in 5-Quart slow cooker. Combine green onions, tamari or soy sauce, broth or water, brown sugar, ginger, garlic and pepper in medium bowl; mix well and pour over ribs. Cover; cook on Low 7 to 8 hrs, 3 1/2 to 41/2 on High or until ribs are fork tender.
2. Remove ribs from cooking liquid. Cool slightly. Trim excess fat. Cut rib meat into bite-sizes pieces, discarding bones and fat.
3. Let cooking liquid stand 5 minutes to allow fat to rise. Skim off fat.
4. Stir sesame oil into liquid. Return beef to slow cooker. Cover; cook 15-30 minutes or until hot.
5. Serve with rice or linguini; garnish with sesame seeds.
