Ingredients

    3 c. warm water
    1 tbls. active dry yeast
    2 tbls. oil
    1 tbls. salt
    6 c. whole wheat flour
    dissolve yeast in warm water. add oil and mix in 3 c. flour. beat until dough is smooth and stretchy. add salt and add the rest of the flour a cup at a time, mixing well. knead on a floured board until no longer sticky. oil bowl return dough to bowl, brush with oil and let rise until double. punch down and divide into 24 pieces. shape them into smooth round balls and let rest 10 min.
    preheat oven to 450 degrees.
    roll dough balls into 1/4 in. thick
    cut in half and fillby 4 in. circles
    bake on lowest rack about 5 min. or until bread puffs up and starts to turn brown
    serve warm or reheated
