    2.5 cups of dried split peas
    1 Box of Swanson unsalted beef broth (3 cups)
    1 lb of Virginia cured ham
    1 large onion finely chopped
    6 cloves of garlic finely chopped
    1 tbsp of basil
    1 tbsp of marjoram
    2 oz of red wine


Simply put it all into a crock pot (slow cooker) and cook at med to high for 3 hours until the peas basically dissolve. Then turn to low and allow to simmer until ready to eat.

Serving Size: Makes 8 servings of about 1 cup
