Ingredients

    1 lb bacon
16 oz can of petite diced tomato
    8 T fresh basil
1 box (16 oz) of noodles of you choice
    1 medium onion
    olive oil (optional)

Tips

Ham or any other salty meat works equally well. For a decadent touch add a half cup of cream. You can also add peas and other veggies if you like.

Directions

Cook the bacon until crisp- remove form pan and drain fat. Saute onions in either a little left over bacon fat or in olive oil while cooking your pasta. Add 16 oz of canned petite diced tomato and heat until warm. When pasta is done, combine pasta, crumbled bacon, your sauted onion/tomato mix and about 8 T of fresh chopped basil. The fresh basil makes a HUGE difference. So use fresh if possible, but a tablesppon of dried works in a pinch.
