Ingredients
-
Beans, Black, Organic Trader Joes, 1.5 cup
Onions, raw, .5 cup, chopped
Sweet Corn, Fresh, .5 cup
Garlic, 2 clove
Bob's Red Mill Oat Bran, 0.5 cup
Sunflower Seeds, with salt added, 2 TBSP
Tahini, 2 tbsp
Lime Juice, .5 lime yields
Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce, 1.5 tsp
Creole Seasoning, 1 tsp
Paprika, 1 tsp
Salt, .25 tsp
black pepper, dash
Trader Joe’s Organic Coconut Oil, 1 tbsp (optional)
Directions
1.) In a large bowl combine beans, tahini, lime juice, and chipotle tabasco.
2.) Mash with potato masher until about 2/3 of the beans are mashed (don't mash all of them or the patty will be hard to keep together).
3.) Add in the corn, sunflower seeds, oat bran, onions, and garlic.
4.) Stir carefully until combined.
5.) Form into 3 large {tighly packed} patties.
6.) Turn skillet on medium heat and either spray with Pam or use 1-2TBSP of coconut oil.
7.) Wait until pan is hot and then add burger patties. Don't move them around the pan because you want a nice sear so they get that nice golden color.
8.) Cook about 5-7 minutes on both sides and then carefully remove with a spatula.
