    1/2 cup butter, softened
    3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    2 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tsp salt
    1/4 cup nonfat milk


In a bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until well blended; stir in the flour, oats, and salt until completely distributed throughout the butter/sugar mixture and slowly stir in the milk, just until a stiff dough forms. If the dough is too soft to hold a ball shape, refrigerate it for about and hour and then shape the mixture into 36 equal sized balls. Drizzle/coat with melted chocolate (optional)
