Ingredients

    *1 cup water
*1/4 cup butter (you can also use smart balance, brummel and brown with yogurt, which is my favorite, etc.)
*1 large egg (I have never tried egg substitute)
*1 and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
*1 and 1/4 tsp. almond extract (I have also used hazelnut)
    *1 tsp. salt
*3 and 3/4 cups bread flour
*1/2 cup sugar (sugar substitutes will also work!)
    *3 Tbsp. dry milk ( I use Carnation non-fat)
    *2 tsp. active dry yeast
*3/4 cup raisins (golden raisins and craisins taste great too!)
*1 and 1/2 tsp. shredded orange peel ( I have also used dried orange peel from the baking aisle)

Tips

This recipe is best made in the early evening, allowing ti time to cool down and store in the refrigerator. You can warm it up for about 20 seconds and top with your favorite spread! Be sure to try different extracts, I have used Vanilla Nut Butter extract in lieu of Vanilla and Hazelnut instead of Almond. I have also found that golden raisins have a sweeter taste than regular raisins and craisins (no matter what flavor) are fabulous!

Directions

1)measure and add liquid ingredients to the bread pan.
2)Measure and add dry ingredients (except yeast) to the bread pan.
3)Use our finger to for a well (hole) in the flour where you will pour the yeast. Yeast must NEVER come into contact with a liquid when you are adding ingredients. Measure the yeast and carefully pour it into the well.
4)Snap the baking pan into the bread maker and close the lid.
5) Using the select button, choose the Sweet setting.
6) Press the "Crust Color" button to choose your preferred crust (light, medium or dark)
7) Press the Start/Stop button.
