Ingredients

    Beef chuck, arm pot roast, 8 oz
    Carrots, raw, 2 cup, chopped
    Celery, raw, 2 stalk, medium
    Onions, raw, 1 large
    Green Beans (snap), 1 cup
    *Tomatoes, canned, 1.5 cup
    Garlic, 2 cloves
    Bay Leaf, 1 tbsp, crumbled
    *Potato, raw, 2 medium
    Basil, 1 tbsp
    Parsley, 1 tbsp
    Beef broth, 5 cup
    Barley, pearled, raw, 0.5 cup
    Pepper, black, 0.5 tsp
    Salt, 1 1/2 tsp.
    Yellow Sweet Corn, Frozen, 1 cup kernels
    Water, tap, 3 cup (8 fl oz)

Tips

I cut the meat into smaller pieces. I don't put stew size chunks in..


Directions

Use a 5 to 6 quart crock pot for this recipe.
Add everything but the barley to the crock-pot. Add the water 1 1/2 inches of the top of the crock-pot: Stir. Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Two hours before serving, add the barley and continue cooking.
