    2.25 lbs ground round (lean ground beef 15% fat or less)
    3 15 oz cans tomato sauce
    3 15 oz cans light red kidney beans
    1 6 oz can tomato paste
    1 2 Alarm Chili Seasoning packet


Blending the seasoning packet into the tomato sauce before adding lets you get all the lumps of spices out before adding the rest of the ingredients. I like 2 Alarm because 1) it's gluten free and 2) you can adjust the spice level to your family's taste.


Brown ground round in large skillet (season with 1 t salt); drain. Empty tomato sauce into 6 qt slow cooker; blend in seasoning packet. Add tomato paste, browned meat and beans. Cook on high at least 1 hour to allow flavors to blend.
