Ingredients

    1 lb. ground beef
    1 pkg. Jimmy Dean Italian Sausage
    1 large onion chopped
    6-8 cloves of garlic chopped
    1 jar spaghetti sauce
    2 small cans tomato sauce
    2 small cans tomato paste
    1tsp. sugar
    1 & 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1/2 tsp. fennels seeds
    1 tsp. Italian dressing
    1 Tblsp. sea salt
    1 tsp. Tony Cachere's seasoning
    4 Tblsp. chopped fresh parsley
    1 box oven ready lasagna noodles
    15 oz. container of Ricotta Cheese
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 pkgs. Sliced Mozzarella Cheese
    3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Directions

In large pot, cook sausage, ground beef, onions & garlic until meat is done & onions are soft. Season with basil leaves, Italian seasoning, fennel seed, sugar, 1 Tblsp. salt, 2 Tblsp. parsley & Tony's. Simmer covered for about an hour or so adding 1/2 cup of water, if necessary, to keep it moist enough. In a mixing bowl, combine Ricotta Cheese, egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 tsp salt.
Preheat oven to 350. Layer ingredients in a large baking dish in the following order.
Meat Sauce..... then noodles.... then ricotta cheese mix.....then sliced mozarella. Repeat layers ending with mozarella on top. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Cover pan with aluminum foil that hs been sprayed with pam to keep from sticking to cheese.
Bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake 110 more minutes to brown cheese. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
