Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    3 Tbls Olive Oil
2 lbs beef chuck roast diced into 1 inch cubes
(you can also use 2lb of "stew beef")
    1/2 cup soy flour
    2 tsp granulated garlic
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    2 tsp black pepper
    1/2 cup minced onion
    1/2 cup minced carrot
    1 cup diced celery
    2 cups tomato sauce
    4 cups of water
2 pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix, dry
    2 tsp of worchestershire sauce

Tips

I buy large commercial sized cans of tomato sauce and split up into 2 cup segments and freeze in quart size freezer bags that I reuse. It is huge money saver. Same with the chuck roast if you shop at warehouse stores.

Directions

Combine flour, garlic, salt and pepper. Coat beef cubes with dry flour mixture.
Heat olive oil in large frying pan on medium high heat until oil just begins to smoke. Add beef and stir until you see sides browning. Once most sides are brown, transfer to a crock pot.
Cook onions, carrot and celery until onions are translucent in the same pan, scraping any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Transfer to crock pott.
At the rest of the ingredients to the crock pot. Cover. Slow cook on high for 4-5 hours or slow cook on low for 7-9 hours.
