Ingredients

3 1/2 cups red lentils, washed well in fresh water till water runs clear, or almost clear
1/2 cup chopped onion, any kind
1/2 cup chopped celery
6 or more Tbsp. Jerk Jamaican Allspice (flavor to taste)
Add hot sauce, pepper, garlic and salt to taste.
2 Quarts of water
Tips
taste part way through cooking the first time, to get the spicy taste that you want.
Try different veggies or meats if you like. It's a very versatile soup.
Garnish with parsley or other greens.
Directions
put all ingredients into crock pot. Put on high for 6 hrs and serve with fresh bread if you choose. I eat it as is, simple, delicious, lots of fibre and filling.
