Introduction

My mom's traditional Jewish recipe My mom's traditional Jewish recipe
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 (3-4 pound) beef brisket
    1 bottle chili sauce
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
    1 (12 ounce) jar cranberries

Tips

Best to cook for 1-2 hours, then slice and cook for another hour or so

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place brisket in 9x13 inch pan.
In a medium bowl, combine chili sauce, soup mix, and cranberries. Pour over brisket, and cover pan with foil.
Cook for 3 to 4 hours, or until brisket is extremely tender. Brisket will get very dark/caramelized; this adds flavor, and doesn't mean that you have overcooked it.
