Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    Deer meat, cubed
    Onion, chopped
    Mixed veggies, frozen
    potatoes, cubed
    canned tomatoes, cubed
    salt and pepper to taste
    bay leaf
    thyme to taste

Tips

Always avoid over cooking deer meat as it will dry out very easily. Remember, this meat can be consumed less than well done. I like mine medium well.

Serve with cornbread!

Directions

Use deer meat that has been cubed ( 1"x1"). Shake deer meat in a gallon zip lock bag with flour, salt and pepper. In a large skillet heat olive oil on medium heat. Add chopped onion and deer meat. Cook just until deer meat is browned. Add to crock pot. Also add the remaining ingredients to the crock pot. Add water just to cover stew. Cook on low for six hours.
