    1/2 cup unsweetened Applesauce
    1 cup peanut butter
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    3/4 cup baking splenda
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tbl vanilla extract
    1/2 cup dark chocolate chips


dough may be stiff,press into pan
chocolate chip"icing"is optional, bars are good without.


1. Mix peanut butter, applesauce, and sugars/substitutes until creamy. Stir in vanilla. Beat in eggs. Mix in flour and then oats. Spread dough into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
2. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove pan from oven, and sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes and spread. Cool, and cut into bars.

Serving Size: 3 dozen bars
