Ingredients

1 large onion-diced
3 large celery stalks-diced
4 idaho potatos-diced
1lb bulk hot sausage
1 TBSP paprika
2 cloves garlic-chopped
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 cup 2% milk
1 cup light cream
8 oz chicken broth
1 can sweet corn
1tbs butter
Tips
* Shrimp can be added to the recipe at step 3
* The longer it simmers the more the flavors blend, tastes even better the next day.
* freezes OK, but potatoes get mushy when frozen.
*original recipe called for heavy cream and 2% milk.
* You can food process one of the potatos to create a very thick chowder.
Directions
1. Saute onion, celery and potatoes in butter until soft in a large pot.
2. In separate pan cook sausage, drain and add to onion/celery/pottoe mixture.
3. Add paprika, garlic, red pepper, and cook 10 min
4. add milk, cream, chicken stock and corn
5. Simmer and reduce heat until medium consistency and potatoes are cooked.
6. cooking time is approximate. I ccok it until the potatoes are cooked through and I like the consistency.
