    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
31 ounces red kidney beans, canned -- drained and rinsed
    28 ounces tomatoes, canned, diced
    15 ounces tomato sauce
20 ounces 93% lean ground turkey
2 large onions -- coarsely chopped
1 each bell pepper -- coarsely chopped

    3 tablespoons chili powder
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    1 tablespoon cumin (ground)
    1 tablespoon oregano (not ground)
    salt

Tips

Can use regular diced tomatoes, if desired. I sometimes use a can of diced tomatoes with chilis.

Directions

In a skillet, brown the meat. Drain the fat and set aside.
Place the ingredients into a crockpot in the order listed above. Stir once
to mix in the seasonings. Cover and cook on low 8 hours. Stir well. Salt
to taste. Serve with grated cheese and onion on top, if desired. (if a
thicker chili is desired, cook up to 10 hours or until desired thickness is
reached.)
