Ingredients
-
30 lbs. prickly pears?
Tips
to collect and peel the pears use heavy gloves and paper towels to handle the pears. Take caution of the spiney needles, like hair and very painful. But the juice is worth it.
Directions
Prep time will vary depending on how many pears you have.
There is no cooking only blend and refrigerate. You must harvest the pears and then wash in cold water. Handle with caution. I used a pair of tongs and paper towels. Simplest way to peel was to cut in half and scoop out the flesh like you would and avocado. Place the meat into a blender and puree. Strain to remove the seeds, they are small so use a wire type strainer. Refrigerate and drink a glass everyday for the antioxidants they provide.
Serving Size: 3 3 liter bottles
