Ingredients

2 lbs ground turkey (93% lean)
1 large onion, chopped
3 large bell peppers (red, yellow or orange), chopped
2 28 oz cans of diced tomatoes
1 12 oz can of tomato sauce
1 15 oz can of pinto beans
1 15 oz can of kidney beans
1 jalepeno (optional)
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp seasoning salt
1 tbsp black pepper
.5 tbsp cinnamon (optional)
Tips
A touch of cinnamon adds a hint of sweetness to chili and is a healthy touch to boost metabolism. Plus, it smells great when cooking!
Directions
Brown the ground turkey in large pan for 7-8 minutes. Add the diced onion to the turkey for the final 5 minutes of browning. Once the turkey is fully cooked, drain the turkey and onion mixture.
While turkey is cooking, dice the 3 peppers to preferred size, then add to large pot. Drain the cans of beans and add to pot. Add tomato sauce and undrained diced tomatoes to pot. Then add in drained turkey and onions.
Add in seasoning salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, and cumin to taste. (Optional, add jalepenos and/or cinnamon for additional heat or sweetness)
Cook covered on low for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Serving Size: makes 14 1-cup servings
