Ingredients
-
2 cups oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup brown sugar Splenda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
2 tbs EVOO
1/2 cup light strawberry jam
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Add all dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl and whisk together. Make a well in the center, and pour in all the wet ingredients. Mix well. Don't be afraid to mix with your hands if using a spoon isn't enough or too hard. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, or they will be too hard to cut.
Serving Size: Makes 24 small bars
