Introduction

Ingredients

*Flour 'Gold Medal', 1.75 cup
*Shortening, Crisco, 5.5 tbsp (1/3 cup)
*Salt, 1/2 tsp
*Baking Powder, 2 tsp
*Baking Soda, 1/4 tsp
*Buttermilk (Cultured, 1% Low-fat), 1.1/4 cup
Tips
using an ice cream scooper makes it easier to make perfect portion sizes.
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degree
Combine the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in a large bowl. Add the shortening and with your fingers combine it with the flour mixture until it looks somewhat like corn meal. Stir in buttermilk just til combined. Place 18 scoops onto greased or parchment covered baking sheet using a small ice cream scooper. * you may use a spoon
Bake at 450 degree for 10-12 minutes (mine is approx.11 min.) until nice brown on the tops
