Ingredients
-
2 lbs Ground Turkey
3 stalks celery, chopped
3 medium carrots, chopped
1.5 medium onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tsp. black peppper
1 tsp. ground Cinnamon
1 tsp. ground Nutmeg
Tips
You can do all the main work ahead of time and refridgerate the premade sheperds pie, then just cook for a little longer at 275 degrees to warm through without overcooking.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.
In a saucepan, brown the meat with the pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the onions, carrots, and celery and cook until softened(you can just cook them all together, I just prefer not to). In a separate pot, boil the sweet potato until fork tender.
Pour the meat mixture into a casserole dish and top with the sweet potatoes. Put in the oven and cook for about 20 minutes, or until just heated through.
