Ingredients
-
2 sweet Italian sausage links
1 box Barilla whole grain pasta
1 jar Bertolli Arrabbiata sauce
2 green bell peppers, cut into short strips
2 tbsp olive oil
Directions
* Preheat oven to 350* and coat glass-bottom baking dish with olive oil; drizzle with another tbsp of olive oil.
* Bake sausage for 45 minutes or until no longer pink in the middle (or until at least 160* internally).
* As the sausage cooks and is almost done, prepare the pasta according to package directions (bring 4-6 quarts of water to a boil, add pasta and boil for 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until "al dente", drain well).
* While the pasta is boiling, add the pasta sauce and bell pepper strips to a large sauce pan and cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes until the peppers are tender but not mushy.
* Add the drained pasta and stir well.
* Chop the sausage into chunks (most of the olive oil will remain in the pan) and add to the pasta and sauce.
* Top with the shredded cheese.
