Ingredients

5 C Rolled Oats (not instant)
    1 C Raw Wheat Germ
    1/2 C Sunflower Seeds
1 C Honey (or brown sugar)
2 C Coarsely Chopped Pecans (or walnuts/almonds or combination)
1 C Powdered Milk (or flavored cream substitute)
    1/2 C Sesame Seeds
    1 T. Vanilla Extract
    2 t. Salt
    1 C Oil
1/4 C Water (equal parts of oil and water may be used to reduce fat content)
1 C Dried Apricots (coarsely chopped)
1 C Dried Apples (coarsely chopped)
1 C Dates (pitted and chopped)
    1 C Dark Raisins
(You may use any kind of dried fruit you like as long as it is equal to 4 cups)

Directions

Preheat oven to 250ยบ. Combine all, or as many of these ingredients as you can put together, in a huge bowl. You will probably have to use your hands to turn the mixture over until it is thoroughly combined. Divide between 2 jelly-roll pans and toast in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Stir the ingredients well every 15 minutes, turning them over to be sure that nothing burns on the bottom. Remove the pans from the oven and allow the mixture to cool completely (about 1 hour). Pack into airtight containers (apothecary jars, old-fashioned candy jars, or other air tight containers). It keeps about 8 weeks. Makes about 16 cups (Nutrition Info is for a 1/2 cup servings.)
