Introduction

I do not suggest any of the brand name ingredients listed above, Sparkpeople added these brand names to the recipe. I suggest you make this recipe with organic (NON_GMO) vegetables, cage-free/antibiotic/hormone free chicken, and make your own taco seasoning so you don't eat all the sodium and preservatives. As someone who avoids commercial meats and GMO foods I am really angry that Sparkpeople put words in my mouth and promoted foods that I am against. Eat organic, it tastes SO much better.

I did not include the 'fixins' with this recipe (i.e. tortillas, tomatos, onions, guac, cheese, or sour cream)

Ingredients

    1 (16-oz) jar salsa
2 T homemade taco seasoning (or 1 packet dry taco seasoning mix)
    1 lime, juiced
    3 T cilantro (or 3 T chopped fresh cilantro)
    1 tsp minced garlic
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Tips

If you're cooking this on high, keep an eye on it because it can over cook and come out dry. It will still taste great but it won't taste awesome. ; D Happy cooking!

Directions

1.In a medium bowl combine salsa, taco seasoning, lime juice, cilantro and garlic. Stir to combine.
2.Place chicken breasts in bottom of crock pot and top with salsa mixture. Coat evenly.
3.Cover crock pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours or until cooked thoroughly.
