After marinading, cook liquid until it reduces into a sauce for passing. After marinading, cook liquid until it reduces into a sauce for passing.
Number of Servings: 8

    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    2 T ground cumin
    2 T garlic powder
    2 T onion powder
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1/4 olive oil
    1/4 cup lime juice
    2 tsp. liquid smoke
    1/2 cup water

Low sodium soy sauce may be substituted. Fresh lime juice makes a nice difference. Delete the liquid smoke if cooking on a grill.

Mix all ingredients. Marinade meat and/or vegetables for up to 24 hours (add 2 T water for longer marinade times to avoid over-salting). Vegetables marinaded with meat must be cooked.

Serving Size: Will marinade up to four pounds of food.
