Ingredients
-
1 lb ground turkey
2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp Garlic Powder
4 cups red kidney beans (canned or cooked)
1 lb can tomato sauce (or pureed tomatoes)
1 lb can diced tomatoes, no salt added (with all liquid)
2 Tbs tomato paste
1 onion (chopped)
1/4 cup Chili Powder
1/3 cup Franks Hot Sauce
2 Tbs sugar
Tips
This meal is very easy and very forgiving. Typically I cook the meat and mix all the ingredients together the night before in the slow cooker dish, and put in the refrigerator. So the next morning I just throw the pot in the slow cooker and have a hot pot of chili when I come home.
Directions
1. Brown turkey in large pan on stove. When turkey is about halfway cooked add Worcestershire Sauce and garlic powder.
2. Place turkey and beans in bottom or slow cooker. Pour tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and all remaining ingredients. Gently stir until completely mixed.
3. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
4. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or cheddar cheese (not included in nutrition).
Serving Size: Makes approximately 12 - 1 cup servings
