This is our version of Olive Garden's Sausage and Peppers Rustica. We added more veggies and whole wheat pasta to improve nutritional stats, but kept the amazing taste. Ingredients

1 lb. Italian sausage
2 bell peppers, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 8 oz. package sliced mushrooms
1 jar of Bertolli Arrabbiata spicy tomato sauce (or your favorite tomato sauce)
1 box whole wheat pasta
Diced garlic to taste
Tips
Serves 8. Great with a salad and, if your diet allows, a garlic breadstick. A light, fruity dessert goes well with this heavier and spicy meal.
Directions
* Slice Italian into bite-sized pieces and sauté in pan over medium heat until cooked through.
* While sausage is cooking, prepare pasta according to package directions.
* Remove sausages from pan and transfer to paper-towel lined plate to drain.
* Sauté peppers, onion, mushrooms and diced garlic until tender crisp in the sausage fat.
* Add sausage and veggies to cooked pasta.
* Add in pasta sauce and stir thoroughly to coat.
Serving Size: 8 servings of approximately 1.5 cups each
